Lunar E-Commerce for Laravel

Interesting alternative for WooCommerce, Shopware or Shopify with maximum flexibility

Laravel Ecosystem

PHP in combination with the Laravel framework enables rapid development due to its intuitive syntax, thus saving time and costs

Monolith or API

LunarPHP is a Laravel-based e-commerce engine that is independently extensible via API thanks to its shared architecture (engine, backend, frontend)

Modern features

Lunar is open source and has many core functions that are only available as a paid subscription or license in other shop systems

Alternative to WooCommerce, Shopware and Shopify

Future-proof with a large community

In our opinion, Lunar is a sustainable alternative for demanding companies that want to use their existing e-commerce solution based on e.g. WooCommerce, Shopware or Shopify are dissatisfied or are no longer willing to pay for subscriptions or get rid of the dependency on the subscription models.

WooCommerce with plugins

Classic

from  € 1001/ monthly

The basic idea behind Wordpress when it was first released (2003) was a blog system. However, state of the art functions such as multilingualism, role management, SEO or (developer side) composer are still missing.

If you want to achieve a reasonably useful range of functions with WooCommerce, this is usually not possible without freemium plugins.

Shopify (Advanced)

Cloud

from  € 3842/ monthly

Shopify as a cloud SaaS solution seems attractive in terms of price at first glance.

However, employee accounts are only available with the “Shopify” package (from 69 net if paid annually, 92 net if paid monthly).

Import fees from version "Advanced" in addition to a fee between 0.6% - 3.5% for card payments.

Shopware (Rise)

Sales dependent

from  € 6003/ monthly

Shopware was designed as an e-commerce solution and is essentially based on Symfony.

If the range of functions of the Community Edition is sufficient for your shop, it is definitely a good choice.

If the range of functions is not enough, there are numerous extensions available in addition to the Rise edition (from € 600 per month, as of April 2, 2024) - usually also as a subscription model.

each plus development costs  115 premium plugins with a price range of $39 - $149 per year  2with annual payment €289/month  3depending on the gross merchandising volume, the gross sales in Shopware store

LunarPHP is open source and at its core is packed with all the e-commerce features you need to maintain your product catalog and process orders. This means there are no ongoing subscription and license costs.

Our promise: Maximum freedom in development - without a subscription

The Lunar backend, based on FilamentPHP, already has a clear dashboard with charts and metrics, which we can modify to suit your needs.

Backend / Dashboard

Agile and scalable

Equipped for future developments

Lunar was designed so that the frontend, backend and core framework are separate packages. This makes it possible to react flexibly and scalably to future developments and requirements in your company.

From Lunar 1.0 with optional backend based on FilamentPHP. If the backend based on FilamentPHP does not meet your future design, functionality or compliance requirements, an independent backend with SPA functionality and API connection can be implemented, for example with Vue.js, React or any other framework.

Every idea starts with a small budget. For the front end, it is therefore possible to develop a monolith based on Laravel Blade and Livewire 3 in the first step. If you have a larger budget, you have the option of implementing the front end with Vue.js and Inertia.js and replacing Interia.js with a REST API at a later date.

With Lunar it is possible to assign multiple users to a customer. This means you can always see which user has placed an order.

Backend / Customer management

Open Source

Moderne Features, ohne Lizenzkosten

In addition to being open source, Lunar is characterized by core features for B2B and B2G, such as assigning multiple users to one (or more) customers. This not only increases security, but it is also possible to see at any time which user placed which order.

Another security aspect is that customers (frontend) and employees (backend) are stored in separate tables and separate logins exist - in contrast to Wordpress/WooCommerce, where there is only one user table. Another core feature is role management for employees.

With the possibilities offered by the Laravel Framework, additional functions Pusher, Meilisearch or Redis can be implemented.
